The official patch history and the redacted item names
All 39 changes across 6 versions, taken verbatim from House House's own version history page. We do the two things the official notes do not: tag each line so you can filter for the changes that actually touch puzzle solving, and explain the item names the developers deliberately redacted.
The official patch notes never name an item
This is a fact almost nobody mentions and one you can verify at a glance: when House House write patch notes about a specific item, they never use its name - they describe its function. Instead of flare gun they write[the item that shoots flares] . That is spoiler protection at the official level: the patch notes are a public page anybody can read before buying.

How we handle it:In each version below we copy the official wording as written, without renaming anything for it, and then add a separate line stating what this probably is, clearly labelled as an inference together with what it is based on. Where the basis is thin we write guess rather than answer - presenting something uncertain as certain is worse than saying nothing.
Only these versions actually touched puzzles
Of 6 versions, the overwhelming majority of changes are networking, voice and performance. Only 3 versions changed how challenges and puzzles behave:
1.5.16 entries1.5.01 entries1.4.94 entries
Groups with a save older than 1.4.9, read this one first
1.5.1 fixed a very well-hidden problem: "saves created before 1.4.9 may have had a challenge that reset itself after completion and could then never be completed again". So if your save was started before mid-August and you have ever seen "I definitely did that, but the progress is empty", this was probably the bug, and the developers state it is fixed in 1.5.1. It is the only entry in the whole patch history that directly affects whether you can finish the game.
Complete version history
Every line copied verbatim, nothing trimmed or rewritten. The translations are our own - when in doubt the English original governs. Legend for the tags:Co-opPuzzles / challengesNetworkingVoiceSavesInterfaceAccessibilityPerformance
The only version that fixed both "challenges resetting" and "item range" at once. If your save, or a teammate's, was created before 1.4.9, this entry decides whether you can finish the game.
VoiceInterface
Added separate volume sliders for different audio categories.
SavesPuzzles / challenges
Fixed an issue where saves made before 1.4.9 could have a challenge that reset itself after completion and was no longer possible to finish.
Co-opPuzzles / challenges
Fixed a spot where it was possible to pick up a player on the other side of a turnstile.
Puzzles / challenges
Made it harder to clip through certain walls.
Performance
Fixed a case where [an item that shows messages] being placed in a backpack could stop shadows from drawing correctly.
Guess, basis is thin- most likely referring to:An information board or message board of some kind
The developers replaced the noun entirely with a function description and kept exactly one property: that it displays information. Read back against that description, the field narrows to pickups that can carry text or a pattern. We do not guess the specific name, because guessing wrong is worse than not guessing.
Puzzles / challenges
Fixed some confetti launchers that weren't firing.
Co-opPuzzles / challenges
Fixed a case where a disconnecting player could cause a [the item with an image drawn on it and a dowel on the other side] end up on the wrong side of a wall.
Guess, basis is thin- most likely referring to:A rollable item with a pattern on one side and a rod on the back - a scroll or a hanging picture
The description - pattern on one face, a wooden rod on the other - points precisely at something you roll up. Still, the developers did not name it, so neither do we.
InterfaceSaves
Changed the save game deletion menu to show the name of the save game being deleted.
InterfaceCo-op
Change to the wording of the password prompt on the host menu.
InterfaceCo-op
The password prompt shown when connecting to a game will now be cleared after a failed attempt.
Networking
The in game network warning now shows a different message for a slow connection and a connection that is unstable.
Interface
Fixed Chinese, Japanese and Korean fonts sometimes hitting a character limit and failing to render new characters.
VoicePuzzles / challenges
[The item that amplifies your voice] now reaches a farther distance.
Inference, reasonably well supported- most likely referring to:A megaphone-class item, used to carry a shout further
The accessibility section of the official FAQ confirms that items exist which enhance interaction, and the core mechanic of this game is that voice gets quieter with distance. An item that throws your voice further is exactly the answer to that mechanic, which makes this entry directly relevant to solving puzzles.
Performance
Fixed some players seeing unusual lighting conditions that persisted after playing a certain part of the game.
1.5.0
2026-08-26
One line only. This kind of small version gets scrolled past in the Steam feed - the version history on the official site is the complete record.
Puzzles / challenges
Fixed one patch of trees that was missing collision.
A connection-stability version. Almost everything in it is about not being able to connect, dropping out, or voice cutting out, which was the loudest player complaint at the time.
Networking
Improvements to network connection and stability.
NetworkingCo-op
Fixed an issue that could cause the server to stop responding after a player disconnects.
NetworkingInterface
More specific error messages for certain kinds of network failures.
NetworkingInterfaceCo-op
Added warnings to the host and join menu if certain issues are detected that may stop you from connecting.
Voice
Small change to the sound of the [the item that lets you find other items].
Inference, reasonably well supported- most likely referring to:Item-finding or detection pickups
The accessibility section of the official FAQ states outright that an item exists which highlights interactive objects. Something that makes a noise and is used to find things fits the description.
Voice
Fixed the start of [the item that shoots flares] sound effect sometimes getting cut off.
Inference, reasonably well supported- most likely referring to:Flare gun / flare launcher
Community guides record the Green Flare puzzle around the green tower consistently, and flares are a mechanic that genuinely exists in this game. The description matches that.
VoiceNetworking
Improvements to voice stability. It should be less likely that players voices cut out or stop working.
**A behaviour-changing version.** From here on, starting a game requires a session password - every "how to host" tutorial written before this point is out of date on that step.
Co-opInterface
Session Passwords are now required when starting a game.
Accessibility
New setting: Invert Look X.
Performance
New setting: Frame Rate Limit.
Performance
Vsync is now on by default.
Saves
Better protection against potential savedata loss.
Performance
Added option for vsync half (locks you to half the framerate of normal vsync).
Puzzles / challenges
Made it harder to clip through certain walls that could cause a player to get stuck.
Puzzles / challenges
Fixed a collider that was missing in one challenge.
Puzzles / challengesSaves
Fixed an issue that could cause completed challenges to require completing a second time after reloading.
Co-opPuzzles / challenges
Fixed a case where two players could go through a turnstile together.
Co-opNetworking
Fixed a case where the game could stop working if a player disconnected while being carried.
The first patch after release, and the only time the developers wrote a full Q&A around a single patch - they even answered why nobody caught it before launch.
Interface
Fixed an issue where the game wouldn't load if gamepads with unusual names were connected.
Voice
Added output normalization of player voice's volume. This makes player voices louder, especially voices that would otherwise be too quiet.
1.4.7
2026-08-04
It appears in the official version history, but the 1.4.8 announcement describes itself as "the first patch after release" - which means 1.4.7 is the shipping build itself.
NetworkingInterface
Improvements to on screen warnings for connection issues and moderation usage.
Co-opNetworking
Improvements to host stability.
Co-opNetworking
Improvements to friends' game browser reliability.
InterfaceCo-op
Fixed an issue where players using an on screen keyboard could only enter very short passwords.
Note: the official version history begins at 1.4.7. The 1.4.8 announcement calls itself the first patch after release, which makes it likely that 1.4.7 is the 4 August shipping build - that is our inference, the developers never say so.
