Achievements and real completion rates
Every percentage on this page comes straight from Valve's official statistics endpoint, read on 2026-09-14. Put the 12 achievements in in-game order and you get a complete progress funnel, which really answers the only question that matters: where exactly do people stop playing.
87.6%
Crossed the opening bridge
Close to the baseline for "bought it and actually opened it once"
19.1%
Reached the first ending
78.2% of the people who crossed the bridge never got here
9.4%
Got the full-collection marker
The achievement Big Makeover, which the official description calls Get shiny
6%
Saw the true ending
The rarest of all 12, and 14.6 times rarer than crossing the bridge
Progress funnel
Each row is one achievement, and the bar is its real completion rate. The number between two rows is how many people were lost at that step. Read the absolute values and it looks like everybody is playing; read the drops and you can see where this game's actual walls are.

Bar colours match the tower each puzzle belongs to. The three highlighted drops are the steepest in the whole run, and are discussed on their own below.
The three steepest steps
01
Big Walk → Big View
-22.9 points
The steepest step is not a puzzle at all, it is "the first time you have to leave the area you know in order to gather parts". The map room's parts are scattered around the red tower, and this is where a group is first forced to actually divide the work.
02
Big Pack → Big Sit
-12.8 points
The second big drop is also on unlocking transport. The green tower needs 5 parts fitted into the receiver on its top - no more than the red tower - but by then people are rushing, and the cost of a coordination mistake has gone up.
03
Big Goodbye → Big Makeover
-9.7 points
This stretch is not about difficulty, it is about willingness: after the first ending, more than half of the groups that remain are gone before anyone repeats the whole thing for the full collection.
Tick it off: how far have you got
Tick the achievements you already have and it tells you where that puts you relative to everybody else, plus which milestone is next. Ticks live in this page only - nothing is uploaded or saved.

Start by ticking what you have done
The 12 entries below are every achievement in the game, in route order. Tick them and you will know where you stand.
Next milestone
Close to 88% of owners have crossed it. This one is not really a difficulty measure - it is the baseline for "bought the game and actually opened it once". Treating it as the denominator is more useful than treating it as an achievement.

GuideBig ViewRed towerVisit the map
64.7%The single biggest drop of the 12: 22.9 percentage points in one step. Opening the map room means collecting 5 parts around the red tower first, which is the moment players are forced to leave the area they know and, for real, divide the work up.
Big PackSystemTower inferredWear a backpack
57%Note that this one is rarer than See the map. Roughly 7.7 percentage points of players have been inside the map room and still never performed the action of putting a backpack on - they are not stuck, they simply did not know it was a thing to do.
GuideBig SitGreen towerRide the chairlift
44.2%44.2%, and the second biggest fall at -12.8. The green tower needs 5 parts fitted into the five-slot receiver on its top - the same count as the red tower, but by now players have a map, so a drop this large says the hard part is not finding, it is placing.
GuideBig RideBlue towerRide the train
37.8%The blue tower rewards you with transport rather than an ability, so the people lost here are more likely "I am done crossing the island" than "I cannot solve it". The fact that trains only run one way is also why many groups decide not to bother.
Big HelpSystemTower inferredWear something on your hip
36.2%Only 1.6 points below Ride the train - the flattest stretch of the 12. The two actions sit next to each other in the route, so it is fair to read them as one step.
GuideBig TunnelYellow towerEnter a big tunnel
30.2%The second of three steps where transport, not puzzles, is what costs you players. Worth noticing: by this point the time a group has spent unlocking transport already clearly exceeds the time spent on the puzzles themselves.
Big ClimbSystemTower inferredReach the highest point
28.8%A drop of only 1.4 points - the steadiest step in the whole funnel. Groups that reach the yellow tower mostly go up to the summit anyway, which says curiosity is very stable among the players who remain.
GuideBig WallBlack towerTower inferredGo beyond the wall
20.2%Down 8.6 points. This is the first threshold outside the main line, and crossing it means the group decided to finish the run rather than call it a night.
GuideBig GoodbyeBlack towerHidden achievement, with no official description
19.1%A hidden achievement, and Valve gives it no description. 19.1% means that of the players who crossed the bridge, about 78% never reached the first ending. That is this game's real main-line completion rate.
GuideBig MakeoverEndgameGet shiny
9.4%The widely circulated claim that "only 1% reach 100%" is wrong. Valve's number is 9.4% - roughly one owner in ten has done it.
GuideBig GameEndgameHidden achievement, with no official description
6%6.0%. The rarest of all 12, and the only objective where you must win once before you are allowed to start. The true ending is not secret content; it is a second mountain at the scale of a whole replay.
Completion rates come from Valve's official statistics endpoint, with all 12 read on 2026-09-14, and they mean "of the people who own this game, how many have got it". Percentages drift slowly down as new players arrive - which is why "everybody online says the true ending is 1%" does not match the official number: 6% of owners have it.
Widely repeated claims that do not match the official numbers
"Only 1% of players get the true ending"
The official figure is 6% (achievement Big Game). The 1% number probably comes from one platform's trophy rarity, or an early sample, but once it is circulated as a worldwide fact it makes a lot of players treat the true ending as unreachable and give up on it outright. Real rarity is 1 in 14.6, not 1 in 100.
"Big Makeover is the 100% achievement"
The official description only says Get shiny. Equating it with 100% completion is a community convention, not an official definition, so this site writes it as "widely treated by the community as the full-collection marker" rather than "the 100% achievement". Same principle: the true ending and the full collection are two separate achievements, their numbers do not contain each other, and somebody can get one before the other.
Where these numbers come from
- Completion rates - Valve's GetGlobalAchievementPercentagesForApp endpoint, read directly, with no estimation applied.
- Achievement names and descriptions - from the public achievement list. The endpoint returns only machine names such as Ending2, not display names, so we paired them by both meaning and the fact that the two lists sit in exactly the same order.
- Icons - official achievement icons, stored locally rather than hot-linked.
- The "tower placement inferred" tag - the developers never say which achievement belongs to which tower. Where one maps directly we name the tower; where it is our inference, the entry says so.
