The short answer

The coastal crane has one switch on each side, and both have to be pressed inside a very short shared time window. When you are too far apart for gestures to be seen, raising a lantern as the countdown signal is the most reliable option.

A pure timing puzzle. The only difficulty comes from the distance between the two players.

Before you start

  • 2 players, one per side

Step-by-step3 steps

  1. 1

    Take your positions

Each player stands at the switch on their side of the coastal crane.

  2. 2

    Agree a countdown

The two of you are too far apart for gestures to read. Raise a lantern as the signal: up means ready, down means press.

Schematic: holding is not pressing. These mechanisms cut out the instant you let go, and that is nine tenths of "I definitely pressed it and nothing happened".
  3. 3

    Press together

Both switches inside one short time window and the crane moves, releasing the part.

Where it goes wrong

These are the questions real players search for most. Working through them in order usually finds the cause.

Switch to a visible signal - the lantern. Counting out loud drifts between people and between machines.

After finishing:1 green tower part.

Where this solution came from

Coordinates and the requirement to press both switches inside a short window, using a raised lantern as the signal, come from bigwalk.tips' green tower round-up.

Puzzles in this game are not assigned in a fixed order: most of them reward the same generic red gourd, so you can clear any set of challenges around a tower. That is why two guides list different puzzle line-ups for the same tower — neither is wrong. Unless a coordinate is credited to a named source it is a community measurement, and later versions can shift it; once you are in the area, trust the landmark over the number.
