The short answer

The two beach houses must be occupied at the same time. On the ground floor of house A, note how many images are shown, then go upstairs and encode that number with three tile types: triangle = 10, asterisk = 5, single line = 1. Press the button, house B's display board updates, and the player in B reads the number off the board with a telescope and enters it.

The most elegant information-encoding puzzle in the game: you build any number you like out of three symbols worth 10, 5 and 1, and then somebody reads it back across a stretch of beach.

Before you start

  • 2 players (both houses occupied simultaneously)
  • Agree on a channel first (a radio is the cheapest option)

Step-by-step6 steps

  1. 1

Write down the coordinate near the green tower first

A red platform near the green tower displays the coordinates for this puzzle pair. Note them, then head north to the beach.

  2. 2

Find the two beach houses side by side

The two houses sit right next to each other, and you need to be inside both at once - a hard requirement, and impossible alone.

  3. 3

House A, ground floor: count the faces

In house A, the further of the two, activate the mechanism beside the collectable and a screen on the ground floor shows a set of images - mostly human heads. Work out exactly how many there are.

Faster:Get this number wrong and everything after it is wrong. Count twice before you go upstairs.

  4. 4

House A, upstairs: encode the number with tiles

Upstairs there is a tile system with three tile types. Use it to represent the number you just counted: triangle = 10, asterisk = 5, single line = 1, in combination.

Faster:For example: count 20, place two triangles. Count 17, one triangle plus one asterisk plus two single lines.

Triangle= 10Asterisk= 5Single line= 1Worked exampleCounted 20 -> two trianglesCounted 17 -> triangle + asterisk + two single linesGet the first count wrong and everything after it is wrongOnce the board pops up, house B reads it through a telescope
Schematic: beach house tile encoding. Triangle = 10, asterisk = 5, single line = 1, combined to express any number.
  5. 5

Press the button and house B's board updates

Pressing the button raises house A's pin board, and house B's display board changes to match it.

  6. 6

House B: read the board through a telescope and enter it

The player in house B reads the number off the display board through a telescope and types it in, and the puzzle is finished.

Where it goes wrong

These are the questions real players search for most. Working through them in order usually finds the cause.

Go back and re-check how many heads house A actually showed. The tile encoding is trivial; the counting step is where it goes wrong.

The telescope has to face the board square on. If the angle is bad, have the player in house A press the button again so the board pops up fresh, then reposition and read it.

No. Both houses have to be occupied at once - that two-player gate is the whole point of the puzzle.

After finishing:1 green tower part. Put all five parts into the five-slot receiver on the green tower top, get the green key, start the chairlift.

Where this solution came from

The tile encoding - triangle 10, asterisk 5, single line 1 - matches item by item between games.gg and allthings.how. Both houses occupied at once, with house B reading through a telescope, is confirmed by allthings.how, games.gg and bigwalk.tips.

Puzzles in this game are not assigned in a fixed order: most of them reward the same generic red gourd, so you can clear any set of challenges around a tower. That is why two guides list different puzzle line-ups for the same tower — neither is wrong. Unless a coordinate is credited to a named source it is a community measurement, and later versions can shift it; once you are in the area, trust the landmark over the number.
