The short answer
One player sits on the tall green chair on the cliff platform (sitting down starts a radio broadcast immediately), while the other walks a genuinely long way to find the microphone hidden in a narrow crack in the green area. Once the seated player hears that their partner has arrived, they press the yellow button by the chair, a disguised box next to the microphone opens, and the red finger item is inside.
The nastiest thing about this puzzle is that the game never tells you its two halves are that far apart. It gets searched as the microphone puzzle, the headphones puzzle, the sound puzzle and the speaker puzzle - and those names usually describe the same challenge. So people who are stuck often think they are hunting for a different puzzle entirely.
Before you start
- 2 players - one person cannot be at both ends at once, physically
- A channel that crosses the map: radio, Discord, or a flare signal agreed in advance
- A light source: the walk is several minutes, you may reach dusk, and the tunnels are long and black
Step-by-step8 steps
- 1
One player takes the tall green chair (the listener)
On the green cliff platform, one player sits in the tall green chair. Music starts the moment they sit - it is a broadcast from somewhere hidden on the island, and it is the only clue you get.
Faster:There is speaker equipment and a microphone stand beside the chair; that is the sound link between the two ends of this puzzle.
- 2
The second player sets off (this is a real walk)
The other player starts walking. Options: the chairlift toward the green-lit tower if it is active, the rope bridge if it is open, the tunnel system if it is unlocked, or all of it on foot. Different routes, but every one of them is an actual walk - plan for minutes.
- 3
The seated player must stay seated the entire time
This is the rule that matters. The seated player is the listener: while sitting they can hear the exact moment their partner reaches the microphone, and that is the cue to press. If they get up as well, nobody can hear anything.
- 4
If you take the tunnels, bring light
The passages in the tunnel system are long and black. A walk of a few minutes is enough for the sun to go down, and without a light it is easy to lose your bearings in there.
Schematic: holding is not pressing. These mechanisms cut out the instant you let go, and that is nine tenths of "I definitely pressed it and nothing happened". - 5
Once you are in the green area, follow the music
In the green area, listen. Every station sounds different, and when it matches what the player on the chair hears, you are going the right way. As you close in, musical notes drift up through the air - that is the confirmation.
- 6
Find the microphone in the narrow crack
The microphone is hidden in a very narrow rock crack, with a disguised box on a stone plinth beside it. It is extremely easy to walk past, even once you can already hear the music.
- 7
Tell your partner you have arrived
In-game proximity voice does not cross this map. Use the radio, Discord, or a flare signal you agreed beforehand.
Faster:If your signal is unreliable, agree this in advance: the seated player holds the button down for a window around the expected arrival time and you let probability do the rest.
- 8
The seated player presses, the box opens
The player on the chair stands and presses the yellow panel with its small green light beside the chair. The disguised box opens, and you walk over and take the red finger item.
Where it goes wrong
These are the questions real players search for most. Working through them in order usually finds the cause.
After finishing:1 red finger item, which you count toward whichever tower you still need - green or yellow.

Where this solution came from
The full sequence - sit on the chair and hear music, the sitter is the listener, the second player makes a long walk to the microphone in the crack, the button opens the disguised box - comes from bigwalktips' Green Seat write-up, complete with a timestamped gameplay video. MonkeyKingHero has matching footage, and The GameSlayer names the other end of the same pair the Microphone Box and lists it as a yellow tower part source.
Puzzles in this game are not assigned in a fixed order: most of them reward the same generic red gourd, so you can clear any set of challenges around a tower. That is why two guides list different puzzle line-ups for the same tower — neither is wrong. Unless a coordinate is credited to a named source it is a community measurement, and later versions can shift it; once you are in the area, trust the landmark over the number.
