The short answer

Press the entrance switch, then spread out so that every screen has at least one person watching it. Count the total number of faces shown across all the signal lights and enter that total on the blue panel. The faces are generated randomly every attempt.

This one is about positioning, not memory. The more players you have, the easier it gets - a full team puts one person on every screen.

Before you start

  • 2 players or more (more people is genuinely simpler)

Step-by-step5 steps

  1. 1

Do not walk in yet, look at the structure

Go to the green jungle-gym structure beside the broken train and work out how many screens there are and which way each one faces.

  2. 2

    Press the entrance switch

Hit the switch at the entrance and the screens start showing content.

Faster:Take your positions first, then press the switch. If you press it and only then look for a spot, you will miss screens.

  3. 3

Each player counts only the faces in front of them

Spread out until every screen has at least one viewer. Each person counts only the faces they can see and reports their own local number.

    Screen 1Watched ok4Screen 2Watched ok3Screen 3Watched ok24 + 3 + 2 = 9 -> enter on the blue panelΣ
Schematic: correct positions for the face-counting puzzle. Every screen needs a watcher, each counts only what they see, then add them up.
  4. 4

Add them up into one total

Sum everyone's number into a single total. Because the faces are randomised, you only get one shot at giving a consistent answer.

  5. 5

Enter it on the blue panel

Punch the total into the blue panel device. If it is right, the collectable unlocks.

Where it goes wrong

These are the questions real players search for most. Working through them in order usually finds the cause.

Almost certainly either a screen is uncovered, or the same moving face got counted by two people. Fill every position before you press the switch.

Let them move. Your job is to guarantee every screen has a watcher, not to track one face.

Where this solution came from

allthings.how, games.gg and bigwalk.tips agree: press the entrance switch, spread out to cover every screen, total the count and enter it on the blue panel. bigwalk.tips adds the two failure modes - an uncovered screen, and a face counted twice.

Puzzles in this game are not assigned in a fixed order: most of them reward the same generic red gourd, so you can clear any set of challenges around a tower. That is why two guides list different puzzle line-ups for the same tower — neither is wrong. Unless a coordinate is credited to a named source it is a community measurement, and later versions can shift it; once you are in the area, trust the landmark over the number.
