A co-op adventure about walking somewhere together
Big Walk is made by House House, the team behind Untitled Goose Game, and published by Panic. You and your friends cross an open world and stay in touch through tools - and when you suddenly cannot speak, you have to learn to communicate again.
When the walk gets long you can sit down and watch the sunset, or steal your friend's binoculars and push them into the sea - being with your friends is the actual point of this hike.

What players actually say
The quotes below are real Steam reviews, English original plus translation, selected by helpful votes.
“I am 30 years old and this game somehow got a group of friends back together - the people I played with as a teenager. Time pulled us in different directions and everybody has their own life and responsibilities now. But this week we finished that small thing together again.”
I'm 30 now, and by a lucky coincidence I managed to get a group of friends back together — people I used to hang out with when we were teenagers.
“Somebody said it perfectly under the trailer: the word friendslop only exists because friendgems are real. I will never forget that ending.”
One commenter on the release trailer put it perfectly: the word friendslop implies the existence of friendgem. I will never forget that ending.
“Not friendslop, a friendgem. A good game that becomes a masterpiece because of that ending.”
Not friendslop, its a friendgem. A good game that gets elevated to a great game by the ending.
“This game will make you treasure your friends and your life in ways you would not have predicted. Yes, seriously.”
This game will make you appreciate your friends and life in a way you couldn't imagine. Yes it's that serious.
Why a guide site
The game is lovely and being stuck is not
Big Walk is online co-op puzzle solving with no single-player mode and no built-in hints. The moment you are stuck, you have to go and find the answer yourself.
And the answers are spread across Reddit, Discord and fan sites of wildly uneven quality - with Chinese and Japanese material especially thin at the top.
This site gathers every puzzle's solution, the map coordinates, gameplay video and the cross-platform questions that come up constantly into one list you can search in seconds - and it names the source of every entry.
01Where you are stuck
For example the 4166 / 1899 pair, with no idea what those two numbers are supposed to mean.
02Read a one-line answer
They are map coordinates and not a code; where the button actually hides; why one person cannot do it.
03Go back and finish
Step-by-step solution, communication schematic and a blocker checklist - no forum threads and no waiting for replies.

Every site has puzzle solutions, and copying them produces little difference. So the effort on this one went somewhere else: digging the raw official data out and reshaping it into forms that exist nowhere else - real completion rates for all 12 achievements from Valve's own endpoint, the redacted item names in the official patch notes, and the counter-intuitive rules buried in the official FAQ - plus a coordinate finder computed from that data.
Achievements and real completion rates
The actual worldwide completion rate for all 12 achievements, ordered into one progress funnel: 87.6% cross the bridge, 19.1% reach the first ending, 9.4% get the full collection, 6% see the true ending. It answers the only practical question here - at which step do people stop playing.
True ending 12%
The official rules decoded (26 entries)
The player count sets a floor and not a ceiling, only the first two version digits need to match, text chat obeys the distance rules too, and a wrong system clock will block you from connecting outright. Each entry carries the official English original so you can check it, plus how the internet usually gets it wrong.
Hosting self-check included
Patch history and redacted item names
6 versions and 39 changelog entries, copied verbatim and tagged by what they affect. It also explains why the developers refuse to name items in patch notes - what the 5 instances of [the item that ...] on the public history page are actually referring to.

Coordinate finder
Type in the two numbers on your screen and it tells you which verified location is nearest, by how much, and which guide to read. The 13 coordinates underneath are all cross-checked, and it shows each source's own wording so you can judge the confidence yourself.
13 coordinate points
All of the data above comes directly from official endpoints and the developer's own pages, collected on 2026-09-14, with no third-party summary in between. See every source, the grading, and our list of inferences ->
Turning player experience into something you can use
That group above is official data. This group is different - built on thirty player reports, and what we did was distil the friction points that keep repeating into models and tools, while flagging every conclusion that only one source supports. Saying "we consulted thirty guides" is meaningless, so the sources page lists which ones we read and what we took from each.
Signal encoder
4 communication protocols that have been tested in the field, plus a tool that computes an encoding scheme for your puzzle: enter how many distinct answers you need to tell apart, and it comes back at the granularity of "three raises with the left hand". Those tables are computed, which is why they work on puzzles nobody has written up.
9 options in 4 rounds / 36 in 6
General techniques
Prop climbing - what the community calls flying - with its three-step loop and a symptom-to-actual-cause table, grab chaining, the arrow the key chain gives you, and the four transports ranked by measured timing. Includes this site's own correction on whether you can fly, because we used to get that one wrong.
1 self-corrections included
Gear and the slot economy
Your hand holds one thing, a backpack's value is two free hands, and the megaphone will not fit in the hip pack. It puts "cannot pick it up", "cannot climb" and "nobody can hear me" into one model, and points at the item hidden in the north that halves the hauling.
11 items - 2 single-source
This group is built on records players wrote about their own runs rather than on official documents, so we keep the original author's tone and verdicts, and the sources page grades every one of them as a field report, a quick reference, or derivative content. See what we read and what we took from each ->

Frequently asked questions
Can I play it alone?
No. The official FAQ is explicit: the game is built entirely around cooperation and communication, and there is no single-player mode. It also concedes, in the official's own words, that you can start one alone and wander - but not far. Two players minimum, twelve maximum, and there is no matchmaking.
Does it support cross-platform play?
Yes, and the official FAQ says so directly. The save and all progress belong to the host - nobody can connect until the host starts the game, and everyone is disconnected when the host ends the session.
How much is it, and where is it available?
$19.99 on the US Steam store, with regional pricing. The platforms the official FAQ lists are Windows and macOS (both Steam and the Mac App Store), PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2, and it states there are no plans for other platforms. Note that the Mac App Store version has no Game Center, so joining is by join code only.
How long is it?
Roughly 9-15 hours for the main line, and longer for everything. The real official numbers for scale: 19.1% of owners have reached the first ending and 6.0% have seen the true ending.
How many people have actually got the true ending?
6.0%. That is Valve's own statistics endpoint, for the achievement Big Game. The widely repeated "only 1%" does not match the official figure - real rarity is about 1 in 17, so roughly one owner in seventeen has finished it.
Our version numbers differ. Can we still play together?
Yes, as long as the first two digits agree. The official rule is that only the first two digits of the version number need to match and the third may differ - so 1.5.1 and 1.5.0 can play together, and 1.5.x with 1.4.x cannot. Cross-platform rollouts happen at different times, so the third digit almost always differs, and that is normal.
What player count should the host choose?
Choose the minimum number of people who will be there the whole time, not the maximum who might turn up. The official FAQ states that the setting only changes how challenges are configured and does not limit who can join, so picking a lower tier does not lock anybody out.
It will not connect, or we cannot find players. What now?
The official order is: check your system clock first, because clock drift blocks both joining and hosting; then ping api.epicgames.dev to confirm you can reach Epic Online Services; then confirm the host has genuinely loaded into the world, that the first two version digits agree, and that the join code is the current one. And remember that from 1.4.9 a session password is required to start.
Can you fly in this game?
No. That is the honest answer to the community's how-to-fly question: there is no flight mechanic at all. There is, however, a repeatable prop climbing trick that gains height and reads like flying from outside - the technique page has the three-step loop.
